A unique and inventive synthesis of Classical references and Art Nouveau form by Danish architect Niels Jacobsen; representative of the Scandinavian National Romantic movement, also known as Jugend.
The domed reflector, above an octagonal garland molding, supported by four scrolled arms, the blossom light-holder raised on a standard centering a rosette, radiating eight scrolls over an octagonal base, on a Romanesque arch frieze terminating in eight angular feet. In great overall condition with rich patination throughout. Rewired for the USA. An incredibly rare, beautifully made and inventive piece to add to your collection.

Each bottle-shaped body, with cylindrical neck and base bisected by a sloping shoulder, terminating in a circular flared foot. The dark brown glaze overlaid with vertical chain link pattern in pixelated Ben-Day dots repeated four times. The underside marked: Royal Copenhagen Denmark Fajance.

Each elegantly elongated body, incised and fired in a richly variegated solfatara glaze in shades of green, brown and golden yellow. Underneath marked with model number 22139 along with the emblematic three blue waves for Royal Copenhagen and "gb" initials for the artist.
The sublime and naturalistic effect achieved by solfatara glaze was popular with artist Gerd Bøgelund and also used on Royal Copenhagen pieces designed by Axel Salto, Carl Halier and Nils Thorsson amongst others.

Design attributed to the iconic Swedish lighting designer Elis Bergh and expertly crafted by the preeminent Swedish metalworker C.G. Hallberg.
The tapering canopy, above ring fasteners and a central hanging rod, the scalloped and spherical body issuing four c-curved arms, each arm with a single light holder surmounted by a frond shaped reflector, terminating in a star finial. The canopy stamped with a crown over the capital letter H.

The radiant glaze composed of foliate patterns painted in variegated greens and browns against a caramel-colored background. The garlic-mouth form, on a circular foot, signed underneath: HAK. An unusual and handmade Chinese inspired form from the small Danish workshop of Herman A. Kähler. The piece is in great overall condition. Museum wired, the vase is not drilled and can easily be converted back into a vase. Minor chipping of the glaze around the foot, typical with Kähler production of this period - see museum examples illustrated by Peder Rasmussen in Kählers Værk. Lampshade sold separately.
